Dubai, UAE, 4 April, 2023: Careem, the region’s leading multi-service app, launches One-Click Checkout, enabling 50 million Careem customers across the region to checkout on third party merchant apps and websites instantly using the contact information, delivery locations, and payment information they have saved on the Careem app.

Careem Pay’s One-Click Checkout is now available on, a GCC-based online fashion retailer which houses over 1,200 global and regional brands including Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo and Steve Madden. Careem will soon introduce One-Click Checkout for merchants in other markets in the region.

Globally, 70% of e-commerce carts are abandoned, signaling the difficulty that online retailers face in converting website visitors into customers. This is usually due to poorly-designed checkout experiences that require shoppers to manually add their card payment, contact info and delivery details every time they shop. One-click checkout products enable online retailers to increase sales conversions by up to 60%. Careem’s One-Click Checkout product makes it significantly easier and safer for customers to checkout using pre-saved information and an OTP-based, one-time authentication.

More than 50 million people are registered on the Careem app, which has 5 million cards on file, and 20 million mapped locations saved.

Careem Pay simplifies payments experiences by making it easier for customers, Captains, and merchants to hold and transfer money at home and abroad, pay bills, and make and accept payments both on and beyond the Careem app. Careem has been delivering secure payments for customers, Captains, and merchants for its rides and deliveries services for a decade. The total volume of cash and digital transactions processed by Careem over the past seven years across all services is more than AED 18 billion ($5 billion).

One-Click Checkout is the latest product in Careem Pay’s suite of fintech services. Careem Pay now offers a digital wallet, peer-to-peer money transfer service, international remittance between the UAE and Pakistan, and a bills and recharge service that enables customers to pay for most of their essential services directly through the Careem app.
